Beacon Lofts
Return to Residential Projects
Location: Beacon, NY
Details: Artist Live Work Lofts, Artist Studios, Self-Storage
Firm: Aryeh Siegel Architect, with interiors and landscaping by LQ Design
The Lofts at Beacon project is an adaptive re-use of a former nineteenth furniture factory along the Fishkill Creek. The former power dam, now a small scale hydroelectric facility, features a 40 foot waterfall.
There will be approximately 140 lofts when the project is completed. The interiors are modern, yet retain original building features and oversized windows. Mezzanines will be included in the majority of lofts where the ceiling height allows. Amenities include a fitness center, mail room, and bicycle storage room.
There will be a significant number of site improvements to complement the building renovations, including new landscaping, paving, grading and drainage, parking lots, site lighting, and the incorporation of the Greenway Trail, a pedestrian and bicycle path leading from the Hudson River along the Fishkill Creek to the Town of Fishkill line.
